Curriculum Overview and Academic Program
The academic tradition of Southcrest is one of rigor and excellence where students are challenged to think deeply, to communicate well, and to serve others.
The Southcrest curriculum is designed to educate the whole person and to prepare students to be women of character, leadership and service. It fosters the development of disciplined and logical thinking, creative problem solving and precise communication. It values the traditional elements of a classical education and the innovative approaches meant to help students address the challenges of the 21st century.
For its Math and Science curriculum, it has benchmarked with the international standards of Singapore, Massachusetts and,locally, those of Philippine Science High School. Its literature program focuses on the classics and the great books the world has produced. Time for the arts, history, sports, music, home economics, and computer is provided to ensure that each child receives a wholistic education. The Philosophy program is meant to help students deepen in their understanding of reality, human dignity, truth and ethics. The Theology program is meant to help students form deep convictions and to integrate their faith in their daily life.
